ABOUT SAN DIEGO SCIENCE FESTIVAL:

The San Diego Science Festival strives to create exciting and interactive experiences that showcase the remarkable science of greater San Diego, a community recognized as one of the Nation’s scientific leaders. Our wide variety of programs and events inspire all ages, with a special focus on building a pipeline of future scientists and STEM thought-leaders.

The first annual San Diego Science Festival (SDSF) was held in March 2009, and because of its success, became a model for science festivals across the nation.  San Diego Science Festival 2010, to be held in March 2010, will continue to excite K-12 students and the San Diego community as they explore the possibilities of science.  The city-wide celebration of science and innovation includes events, lectures and activities to engage multi-generational audiences including students, teachers, parents, science professionals and others. The mission of the San Diego Science Festival is to draw on the strengths of San Diego’s corporate and organizational diversity across STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) industries in order to advance the local and national economy by building a pipeline of future scientists. San Diego Science Festival is organized by UC San Diego, with the support of community collaborators, to educate students across the region.
